We’ve neglected posting for a while. Pretty much business as usual and nothing we felt very compelled to announce to the world. We spent the last 4 days for the Thanksgiving holiday at my parents’ house near St. Louis. It was a very nice break from our busy lives. We don’t do much out there except read books, talk lots about life and politics, cook huge meals…and eat huge meals. And eat and eat and eat. Needless to say, it was an enjoyable past few days. Sadly, we can’t stay removed from the real world forever, and so we returned to Lawrence this evening, giving ourselves the one final day of vacation to just sit around our house and relax.
And before I get to talking about what we just did tonight, I wanted to invite anyone who cares to go and check out our “official” wedding photos. The photos are gorgeous and we are beyond happy with them. We have purchased the full rights to them and any of our friends and/or family who want to make prints are welcomed to. Our photographer, Kelly, gets our immense gratitude and congratulations on a job very well done.
Tonight, after we came home and gave some much needed snuggles to the kitties, we got started setting up our Christmas tree. Our house as a whole will be fairly minimally decorated this year. We just don’t have money that we feel can be splurged on decorations. I’m so glad that my sister-in-law reminded me of the excellent after-Christmas deals one can get on Christmas decorations. So while the rest of our house will lack in festivity, we will still have a kick-ass Christmas tree. We bought what I affectionately refer to as a “reusable” tree from the hardware store and set her up tonight. Instead of describing how pretty it is, I will just leave you with a photo collection. Enjoy and a belated Happy Thanksgiving to all!
