The Parade of Presents

OK, so I’ll be honest.  Getting wedding gifts is pretty darned fun.  And if you’re married, or have ever been married, I’m sure you’ll agree.  I wanted to show some of the gifts we’ve gotten so far, in action.  I think this will display how appreciative we are.  And don’t worry if your gift hasn’t been displayed.  We’ve used pretty much everything we’ve gotten so far, and if we haven’t, we have plans to!  It was hard to resist purchasing most of the stuff off of our own registries since we’ve moved into our new house; our patience has been rewarded though!

First off, the kitchen toys.  Not seen in these pictures are all of our wonderful dishes and new silverware (which we love), an awesome Le Creuset dutch oven, some beautiful serving dishes and some other lovely items.

Also, away from the kitchen, we’ve received some gifts on the softer side.  We’ve received fluffy new towels – you never realize how crappy your old towels are until you get brand new ones! Greg and I were perhaps most looking forward to the new bedspread.  Our old one – seen here dumped on the floor like a pile of dung – left blue fuzz EVERYWHERE.  This fuzz would become one with the carpet, resisting vacuuming, as well as sticking to our clothing and Greg’s hair.  We will NOT miss it.  At all.

As much as Greg loves my cooking, he feels that kitchen gifts are pretty much for me.  But don’t feel to sorry for him, he has his own registry.  So far he has received a new drill, a LASER guided saw and a table saw.  He’s a happy boy.  Sorry I have no pictures, he was a bit camera shy tonight.  Spoil sport.

On a side note, Greg’s earlier warning about giving us knives as gifts yet again proved true.  I was chopping zuccini (perhaps a bit absent-mindedly) and was reminded of the value of my thumb-nail.  Seriously, that puppy has saved the tip of my thumb from the cutting board 3 times now.  As it happened tonight, I bled very little.
